CONCRETE REPAIR

We have an experienced crew in repairing all types of concrete and masonry areas such as porches, sidewalks, driveways, patios, retaining walls…

Porches tend to have a detioration of brick or the porch itself has pulled away from the building. We can repair or replace the porch and also underpin, or install new footing if need be. The decorative aspect with the brick can also be replaced if it has moved or fallen apart.

Any flatwork such as walks, driveways or floors can be patched, removed and replaced, caulked, or just given a fresh look with concrete stain or epoxy paint coatings. Often garage floors will flake near the overhead doors, when water doesn’t properly drain. We can fix this problem a few ways: we can grind the floor and add an epoxy paint finish, excavate and add a drain for the water to flow to or remove the damaged area, re-grade the sub base and replace the damaged floor with a new one. Sometimes all the above remedies are necessary to provide positive drainage and have a nicer floor.

Basement floors are another area that tends to crack. Although you can’t really repair a basement floor without removing and replacing it, we can apply a good caulking product to fill the cracks, level the area and even coat the entire floor with a beautiful epoxy finish.

Uneven slabs of concrete, such as in a sideway or driveway, usually need to be removed and replaced. Generally the sub-grade has weathered away with improper water drainage and caused a void under the concrete. During the winter cycle, this area fills with water and freezes lifting the slab. Sometimes it will return to the original spot, but the void will continue to grow. In this instance we need to remove the area. add a better base such as crushed stone, re-grade and install a new slab. Occasionally the improper water drainage is from a sprinkler system. This may need to be looked at to keep the issue from reoccurring.

FOUNDATION REPAIR

Many times a foundation over time will crack or become less water proof. We have the skill it takes to excavate, examine the problem and provide the solution. We can underpin the existing home to rebuild the foundation or footing or we can simply water proof a foundation wall that is structurally sound but just needs a membrane material to keep the water out. Our team of operators can also re-grade the grounds to provide proper drainage away from the structure.

We have tackled many obstacles regarding foundations and have worked with historical homes or buildings as well as individual homes that need to remain in tact but are in need of foundation repair. Our talented crew has handled some of the most difficult of situations, with outstanding results.

Underpinning is also an option for structures that do not have an existing footing or need to have a deeper footing installed under the existing one. (In some cases a footing may just need to be removed from the area and hauled away. This is not a problem for us). We can shore the building, excavate, install the needed concrete footing, and backfill.

BLOCK REPAIR

Block can sometimes breakdown over time and need to be replaced or repaired. Here we can excavate from the outside and install a new block wall with new water-proofing. We support the structure from the inside and complete the work on the exterior to finish with a very sound block foundation. Structures like older homes, retaining walls, boat houses or porches can be repaired this way. Decorative retaining walls can also be repaired or fixed by replacing damaged or worn block.

Porches tend to crumble over time and need to have the area removed and replaced with new block or brick. Again this is fix our crew can easily handle.

EGRESS WINDOWS

Our crew also installs egress windows (and window wells) in foundation walls where there is living space in the basement, as is now required by the International Building Code. This can be done on existing homes undergoing renovation, new homes or other structures where a window or emergency exit is necessary.
